As Twitchy reported, Anheuser-Busch’s statement expressing disappointment and concern over “recent incidents that have overshadowed this NFL season” didn’t exactly score with everyone.

Some people can’t help but find the statement somewhat ironic:

@darrenrovell haha a beer sponsor worried about morality ? Oy Vey

A beer company is upset about the NFL's moral code. Hmm… RT @darrenrovell Anheuser-Busch issues strong statement pic.twitter.com/3QwUo6e01a

@darrenrovell The same brand that tries to make a living getting college students drunk has a moral concern? #glasshouse

— David Benjamin (@DaveBenjamin) September 16, 2014

@darrenrovell @goldietaylor Good thing alcohol and domestic violence/child abuse have no corollaries.

— Maureen Waterhouse (@MOWaterhouse) September 16, 2014

@darrenrovell @WaddleandSilvy Pot meet Kettle? The irony! Alcohol a product that is proven to increase domestic violence & ruin/end lives.

@darrenrovell @mikevukkdka Trying to get ahead of PR curve, before people make the obvious link between beer and bad behavior.

Count Houston Texans running back Arian Foster among those not impressed by Anheuser-Busch’s “moral code”:

Lol ok, alcohol company. RT @darrenrovell: NFL beer sponsor, Anheuser-Busch, issues strong statement pic.twitter.com/TCEbA4s5Q1

Selling poison on that high horse.

— Arian Foster (@ArianFoster) September 16, 2014

Domestic violence and alcohol damn near synonymous.

— Arian Foster (@ArianFoster) September 16, 2014

Ok. RT @SpoonFedSports: @ArianFoster that is not the cause of domestic violence. Educate yourself

— Arian Foster (@ArianFoster) September 16, 2014

I forgot this was twitter.

— Arian Foster (@ArianFoster) September 16, 2014

Ok. RT @jwhojrev: @ArianFoster I dont think you really understand what synonymous means. You're saying that people who drink are abusers.

— Arian Foster (@ArianFoster) September 16, 2014

You need a company to tell you dv is wrong? RT @eddieb2: Finally a BIG time company taking a public stance AGAINST and you rip them? Huh?

— Arian Foster (@ArianFoster) September 16, 2014

Everybody is just riding the media wave. There has been tons of dv cases throughout the years where was all this support then? Its political

— Arian Foster (@ArianFoster) September 16, 2014

Anytime it's starts to tinkering with their bottom line, then they act. Now they're concerned.
