So now let’s look at the Libra office, and here’s the Lieber office. It looks pretty similar.

So you can insert your flow chart being simple shapes call callouts, and all kinds of things you can answer in text boxes, just like you can inward so leave your office also has a mail merge option, and so I want to go ahead.

The last name in any changes you put in between there will be a sorter reflected in the mail merge now, unfortunately, this doesn’t give you a lot of customization, as you can see it, really just lets you switch the order, it’s maybe not the best. This is one area where word count: 0, really outshines Wieber office because it lets you customize things a little bit more.

 

So in that respect, it’s a little bit nicer as you can see it’s hours d, 39, oeuvres mushing together the first and last name it’s, not the best.

The same usefulness is the one in Word again. Word has be better mail, merge option that’s one area where Word shines and then closes out without saving so just to take a closer look at so neighbor’s office.

 

If you want to insert a table, you have two options: you can either click this downward arrow and get the same sort of thing that we saw this week like this, or get the downward row in kind of get the same idea that we do and word and Google Docs or you can click this button and get and more numerical way of doing it, so it can have a place to both strengths.

 

I believe Word will let you do something similar.

 

If you go to insert able men, you can pick the numbers and do it that way: Google Docs it.

 

Only lets you do it with a visual representation and the labor office also has a a table of contents feature.

 

This is called something a little different though, and Wieber office instead of table of contents.

 

You go to insert indexes in Table and then you go indexes and tables, and here it lets you define their title sort of how it’s used and you can protect against manual changes.

 

You do all kinds of things with it, and this gives you a lot of configuration options as far as how you want your table.

 

Contents to be configured have and what you saw redefine at each level.

 

What will appear so if you have multiple headings and they’ve? Also, you can how those work. One other nice thing.

 

If you go to format, bullets, and numbering now, you have a whole bunch of different bullet styles, you can pick number styles you can pick from, outlining styles graphical styles.

 

You can pick how they’re laid out all kinds of things you can customize and our options.

 

This is very nice.

 

This is one of my favorite things.

 

You can define d what will show up before and after each DJ injury and a numbered list.

 

This is very nice if you have to write something long like a research document like a thesis or dissertation, and you want to title your chapters or your sections with something specific.

When you do this, and then it shows up in your table contents her indexes as it’s called in this, and I think that’s a nice word.

 

Let you do this too. If you go to format, bullets, and numbering you see, it has different bullet styles different numbers to styles, and outline styles, you click on the zing on the outline numbered and click Customize.

 

Here you can change what it says on each level and you can sort of put an okay.

 

I want this to say section and then and this area I want it to be DJ after and you can pick you know where the numbering starts, all kinds.

 

I have different things like that here you pick the number in style and you know you could be as creative as you’d like it’s handy.

Google Docs doesn’t touch at all and sadly pages offered by I’m Apple.

It is very, very useful. This.

 

I used this a lot when I was writing my thesis.

 

Unfortunately, I wrote my pieces in pages so whenever I would need one of these, I’d use my wife’s computer, to make a list and then import it to my Mac.

 

It was not fun.

 

So with that, let’s take a look at pages because of the rest.

 

If this is all very similar, I mean you have things to increase and in turn on lists are numbered lists, eyeliner, justify your text and you can, for their format, paint brushes, kinda interesting use that to apply of style changes, but these are all sort of Things that you modify the workflow of applying things that we’ve already looked at.

 

So this is pages.

 

You know right off the bat that it’s a little weird in that it doesn’t center.

 

There text editing area and when you zoom in it does the same thing.

 

We’re. It increases the area it covers, but that’s a little odd, I’m won the big features.

 

I love pages this: this is the Inspector window and this hours d,’ oeuvres, I’ll cool, AXW loves the options and things when you’re going to lay out a document.

 

So if you want to modify a table insert a chart, and insert links or multimedia stuff objects.

 

Things like that that would come from here.

 

So let’s insert some text, so you can kinda see what that looks like a course.

 

I’m zoomed encountered a lot and you can do things like you can insert I’m a text box and move that around this gives you some options here to change whether it’s in line or floating.

 

So what? What is just basically means when it’s floating, you can position it wherever you want in line means that treated like a piece of text.

 

In the background, it means just that it’s sort of here.

You can pick how the text wraps around it so that’s just our Xboxes work. You can, of course, insert a table of contents.

 

One thing that kind of stinks with this one.

 

Are you can only have one table of contents that’s not great and like all of them? You have to update it manually, and here you pick which heading style you want in your table of contents.

 

You know it’s, functional and it’s just as functional as Word LibreOffice, and Google Docs, but it doesn’t have as many features are you you’re kinda walked into the predetermined types.

 

I love numbering in bulleted lists.

 

You can define your styles as I mentioned earlier, and I liked it a lot for a little, it’s layout ability like I’m.

 

I have used this to make some questionnaires and things, and it works well for laying out text kinda it’s sort of a little bit like I’m Adobe offers some software to you to create text documents and Make light fires and things or offers functionality like that that is not as readily accessible and word and LibreOffice so that’s kind of nice, I’m, but otherwise for for text editing, it is missing.

 

Some features that I like, and one thing I’m not going to go into there.’s a service called the terror that allows you to manage a bibliography, like you’re, citing documents and things that I might talk about later.

 

There’s a theoretically there’s a terror plot again for the Libra office, but it doesn’t quite work on my Mac, but the terror really works well in Word, and actually, that’s, why. I bought a copy of Word because I’m working on my dissertation and well it is going to make my life a lot easier, so that’s sort of an overview love these for word, processing sweets.

All pretty you fully featured honestly Lever Office and Word offer the most features I’m pages are pretty nice.

 

I used it for years because somebody bought it for me for Christmas once and I was there too cheap or didn’t have the money to buy anything else.

 

Lieber office is relatively new.

 

If I had known about that earlier, probably would have used an if you need word processing software and you don’t want to buy anything.

 

I would recommend using this as a very powerful and a lot of the techniques that we’ve talked about in this class will apply and the learning curve is pretty East, pretty shallow, like I think he built the pick everything up fast.

 

We have word it’s sort of the standard, and so it’s not a bad idea to use it.
