The A-Cads – Roadrunner

A-side : Hungry For Love/B-side : Roadrunner (1965)

From Johannesburg to Montreal.

After playing with the Rock’n Roll Group ‘The Playboys’, Hank Squires formed The Silhouettes, joined The Giants, playing with several groups ( e.g. The Falling Leaves, The G-Men), before in October 1965 he became a founding member of the South African Mid-60s Band ‘The A-Cads’ (Squire: singer and guitarist). Robbie Kearney, also a former G-Man, accepted the drumming position. Richard “Dick” Laws, ex-Bill Kimber and the Couriers was imported from England and joined as lead guitarist. Scotsman Sam Evans was signed up as vocalist, and Les Goode, ex-John E. Sharpe and the Squires, joined as bass guitarist.

Later Squire went to England before he moved to Montreal, where he became a producer of ‘The Haunted’.

Clips have been taken from ‘Seven Chances’ which is a 1925 American comedy silent film directed by and starring Buster Keaton.
