Purposeful Living – Steps To Knowing Your Purpose
This wisdom was imparted into my life by my Pastor and have blessed my life. I now share it with you to bless your life as you seek your God-given purpose “You’re at your best when you are who God created you to be – Pastor A. R. Bernard.”
God told Jeremiah in
Jeremiah 1:5 (Contemporary English Version)
Jeremiah, I am your Creator, and before you were born, I chose you to speak for me, to the nations.
The principle that took hold of me and I live by, “vision stays the same but the methods to achieve the vision can change.” Governs how I go about achieving my purpose and making the right choices/decisions that will lead me to a favorable outcome lining up with my purpose. I had my share of paying the price for bad choices/decisions.
Just like a GPS system in a car recalibrate when we don’t follow the directions it’s given us to the destination so God will redeem the time, recalibrate and use another method to get us to our purpose when we go our own way to achieve the vision/purpose He has created us for.
Psalm 37:23 states
(King James Version)
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.to
Here are some steps to take when pursuing your purpose:
1) Waiting on God led direction is not easy but necessary for the plan to be done properly, orderly, and in decency (1 Corinthians 14:40)
2) Being prayerful and open to hear what God is saying is of great importance in achieving the vision
3) Having the courage to step out and carry out the instructions God tells you to do
4) Let God’s peace be your guide also when walking out the vision
5) Having faith in God, the vision, and also in yourself knowing that God placed everything you need in you to do what He has designed and called you to do
He knows the plan as stated in:
Proverbs 19:21 (The Passion Translation)
A person may have many ideas concerning God’s plan for his life, but only the designs of his purpose will succeed in the end
Staying intimately connected to God and abiding in Him will cause you to achieve His desires for your life as well as getting His wisdom to achieve and carry out your purpose. God will not tell you everything so trusting Him is crucial to obeying Him.
There is no Plan B in God only different methods to the vision He purposed you for before you were in your mother’s womb. Be encouraged by this scripture that has been comforting me and may it comfort you:
Psalm 138:8 (New King James Version)
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
Knowing what you’re good at and do well that is second nature to you normally is a clue to what your designed to do. You will also be passionate about what your purposed to do. God is very committed to seeing His purpose come to fruition in your life.
Let this quote encourage you as it has for me:
