After numerous conflicting reports from both local media and the St. Louis County Police, details have emerged regarding the shooting of a Ferguson police officer Saturday night.

StLouisNewsChannel.com reports:

On Sunday, however, police said the officer had seen just one man behind the Ferguson Community Center. When the officer approached, the man began to run and the officer followed on foot. During the chase, the man turned and fired at the officer, then disappeared into a woods behind the center.

[St. Louis County Police Sgt. Brian] Schellman said detectives later had confirmed there was only one suspect involved. Police did not have any more details on the man’s description.

Police said they did not believe the shooting was related to any unrest in Ferguson since Brown’s death.

The officer was released from the hospital Sunday after being treated for a single gunshot would to the left arm.

Good news “@ksdknews: #UPDATE Ferguson police officer shot in the arm Saturday night was treated and released from the hospital today.”

No sympathy here.

@AntonioFrench @ksdknews, maybe #Ferguson police wouldn’t get shot at if they stooped pointing their guns and shooting other ppl.

@BenchJackson, ppl have a right to project themselves when assaulted and harassed.

— BakariWrites.com (@Bakari45) September 29, 2014

@BenchJackson, and have no respect for cops who gun down unarmed ppl.

A drive-by shooting? No big deal, according to activist Shaun King.

Now, after ALL OF THE DRAMA, this officer wasn't even shot but injured by glass. See how they run with the worst story first, then retract?

— Shaun King (@ShaunKing) September 28, 2014

@ShaunKing We should be talking about what kind of thug that cop was. What did he do to deserve flying glass hit him.

— Anthony Milian (@mrmilianspeaks) September 28, 2014

@mrmilianspeaks @ShaunKing Shouldn't have been out joy riding at that hour.

@AntonioFrench @Lussenpop Soooo, if the bullet doesn't enter his skull and he is only injured by the glass, that's ok? Gotcha
