Maximising Christmas Meaningfully As A Minimalist || SugarMamma.TV
Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel SugarMammaTV. With Rocco getting older, I’m becoming increasingly aware of how clear his memories are going to be, and this year I would make sure Christmas is even more special. I want to build some really important valuable family traditions that are going to create memories that last a lifetime. So for this video, I’m inviting you inside my home, sharing with you all the little but incredibly special and meaningful things that Rocco and I are doing together to build strong family traditions and memories that will last a lifetime. Now, for this video, Google has very kindly and very generously sent us a Google Home Hub to help us have a little extra help in the family home. Now, as I share with you all these little but really special things that I’m doing inside my own home, I’d love to hear the things that you’re doing inside of your home.

Alright, so the first starting point in this family home to make Christmas more meaningful and special starts with education, respect, and understanding. What do all different countries and all the different cultures do to celebrate this special day? What are the traditions? What are the values? When we do this we will build respect, acknowledgement, and understanding so incredibly important in this day and age. Hey Google, play unique Christmas family traditions around the world on YouTube. Okay, so the next key ingredient to making sure this Christmas is even more meaningful and building on existing traditions that is investing in quality time.
Coming together with no distractions laughing together, building things together, creating this together, even if it means making a massive mess. Yes, it doesn’t matter at all. That’s right because we’re creating experiences and memories that last a lifetime. So for this year making Gingerbread man. Also make homemade coffee body scrub to make as gifts to the people that we love, value, and appreciate so much in our lives. Hey, Google, what’s the next step? Okay, so the next family tradition which I’m so proud of building and carrying on is practicing patience, delayed gratification, and excitement before the big guy arrives. Now, I remember so clearly as a little girl for December, waking up every single morning so excited to see what was inside my advent calendar. What a pretty little picture was behind the closed door or maybe even if I was really lucky a little chocolate. So, I’m so proud and excited to be able to continue this tradition with Rocco. Now, we’re really lucky to have the Google Home hub to help remind us every single morning and I have to say this is perfect for getting Rocco out of bed early every single morning.

The next really important tradition and value that we should all get up and be involved in is the act of charity. We need to stop and take the time to acknowledge how lucky and how blessed we are. How much we oughtta have family and friends. How lucky we are to have simple health How lucky we are to have the benefit of time. Not everyone has these things and we can so easily take these things for granted.
Now, you may remember last year that Rocco and I did 10 random acts of kindness for people around the world and it is a tradition we’re going to be continuing on this year. Found a few places within 5.6 kilometers OK, so the next family tradition is making Christmas more meaningful and special in this family home that is decorating the house together. Halloween and Christmas are the two times of the year when I throw away my love and appreciation of minimalism and just embrace the clutter the mess and the excessive decorations of my home. Together Rocco and I love to decorate the Christmas tree also go look for new ornaments that we can use around the home and decorate the home, stand back proudly, and look at what we have created together. Okay, Google turn on the Christmas lights. Okay, turning the Christmas lights on Alright, my final most meaningful, and favorite family tradition is giving the gift of an experience. I don’t want to buy someone a present that they don’t like or want. I certainly do not want to clutter our home and I most definitely do not want to add to the landfill. So for my parents, I’m giving them vouchers for their favorite restaurants and for Tom, we’re going glamping. We got to get it on snake show for two days have time to bond, laugh, and potentially even create a new family tradition where we go glamping regularly. Now, doing something like this doesn’t necessarily need to be expensive. If you can invest just a little bit of time thinking about what that person love, value, uses, and appreciates it’s amazing what you can create. You could give someone say ten hours worth of babysitting work or maybe help someone declutter their own home or maybe even help someone convert their photo album into a digital photo album.
The list of ideas is endless as to what you can create that person and it ends up being such a more meaningful kind of thoughtful gift than something necessarily. That’s material.
