Missing in the Mission Hills area! we appreciate the help!

— George Brett (@GeorgeHBrett) May 30, 2012

While searching for Charlie, it started to rain in the area. This did not make things easy for the search crew considering the labradoodle is deathly scared of bad weather.

He is scared of the rain so this is going to be challenging! #royalsNation We can do This!!! REWARD #FindCharlie

As search efforts heated up, Brett begged his followers to get the hashtag #FindCharlie to trend.

Help get #FindCharlie tending on twitter! Thank you for your help! #FindCharlie

But wait a second, what about a reward?

@mattIynch The reward is undecided. finders choice. within reason #FindCharlie

— George Brett (@GeorgeHBrett) May 30, 2012

Sadly “within reason” can be interpreted in so many different ways and you know fans will try to take the future hall of famer for everything he’s worth. Is it possible somebody stole the dog?

@revive85KC hope not. our other dog was still at home! both were outside playing at around 830-9 when we found charlie to be missing

— George Brett (@GeorgeHBrett) May 30, 2012

After hours and hours of tweeting every new source possible and getting retweets from thousands of people, Charlie had finally been found!

We got him! Thank you for all the support! It is so touching to see how many people care! You all were a big help! Thank you

— George Brett (@GeorgeHBrett) May 30, 2012

Welcome home, Charlie! Don’t run away ever again!

Still no word on where he was found or who the finder was, but we’re happy to hear Charlie returned home safe and sound.
